Uncle Gary's - Austin
Uncle Gary's
Description
Tucked off the beaten path, this lively neighborhood bar pairs a massive indoor/outdoor terrace with sand volleyball, cornhole, Jenga and a stage for regular live music. Pet- and family-friendly by day, it transforms into a danceable, festive spot at night with craft, domestic and imported beers and cozy propane fire-pit tables in winter. Service is friendly, restrooms are clean and prices are generally reasonable, though beer can be pricier during busy nights. Ample covered seating and a welcoming, smoke-free atmosphere make it a favorite local hangout.

One of the most impressive terrace settings I've ever encountered at a bar. They have a sand volleyball court and various outdoor games to enjoy. The bar offers weekly entertainment, and it's a pet-friendly place with a fantastic atmosphere. The prices are also very reasonable.
I have been here a few times with family and friends. Each time it has been a relaxing place to enjoy a drink and relax whether your sitting around talking, listening to music when they have a live band, or playing with the games they have to offer. As for the games they offer Jenga, volley ball, corn hole, I saw some tables with checkers, but I am not sure if they have checkers. It's definitely a great local bar close to home so you don't have to worry about traveling far. Overall the staff has been friendly from my experience each time. I haven't really met anyone who has been rude to me there. Their restrooms are pretty clean too for being a bar. Parking is easy but can be difficult when this place gets busy. It's family friendly, but as one fellow Yelper recommended, I will recommend the same thing, that it's not for children after late hours. There is plenty of outside covered seating and during the winter they have these cool tables that have a propane fire pit with glass rocks that look cool. They actually do a pretty good job of keeping you warm too.
My sister and I found this place and it is so chill. They have inside and outside seating which is great. There's volleyball, live music, good food, and drinks. They even have Uncle Gary's dog who loves visiting with everyone. Great little place all around.
We came to see the band Bourbon Legend, marking our first visit to this place. It's a fantastic neighborhood bar with a lively atmosphere. The venue was packed, leaving just enough space for dancing!
This restaurant is situated in a bit of an off-the-beaten-path location, but it's definitely worth the visit. The menu offers a variety of excellent choices, including a selection of craft options as well as many domestic and imported beers. There are seating areas both indoors and outdoors, and the venue features a stage for live performances. I appreciate that the environment is smoke-free. The prices are quite reasonable, and we had a wonderful time there.
