Mikata - Auburn

Very disappointed. First time in several years I have eaten at Mikata’s in Auburn. The service was poor and food was awful. Ordered steak and shrimp as did several in our group. The steak was tough and the shrimp was under cooked with little or no seasoning. It was steamed under a lid rather than grilled. We had several first timers with us and their opinions matched mine. The cook was very poorly trained and added no entertainment value at all. Once he finished cooking he left the grill dirty with food scattered on and outside of the grill. A young man came in latter to clean it up. Never with go back.

We sat at the bar on a busy evening. The bartender handled the situation as best should could with the load put on her. 1 bartender making all the drinks in the restaurant and the bar and a seating area to cover seems like alot but what do you do when people don't want to work? The sushi was fresh and tasty! The steak and chicken habichi was very flavorful.

Great food and fun. Both of my sons love going here.

Always great food and a good atmosphere. One of our favorite places

Maybe I’m stubborn but Mikata has always delivered such good food with great service that I’ve never really ventured anywhere else to get Japanese food. For me, it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had. Tastes extremely fresh and well prepared. Decent prices and nice atmosphere.
