Cates Bakeshop - Aubrey
Cates Bakeshop
Description
Nestled just outside Dallas, this charming bakeshop pairs Instagram-ready décor with standout pastries—Nutella and banana breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies—and thoughtfully branded packaging ideal for gifts. Regulars praise warm, welcoming staff, comfy couches and excellent drip coffee, though seating is limited. A few guests report inconsistent coffee quality and occasional brusque service, so expect delightful baked goods and a scenic DFW-area stop with some variability.

Ruby Cates donated a large box of cookies for our senior scholarship recipients' banquet, and they not only looked fantastic but also tasted amazing. The people behind Ruby Cates are wonderful, and I highly recommend them!
Where do I even start, an amazing experience each time you walk through the door! This place has some of the sweetest workers, Gracie and Lexie are AMAZING every time I visit and always put a smile on my face before I leave! The atmosphere is so great, Ilove the message they are trying to put out to their costumers and it is just overall a very calm, cute place to hang out or doyour schoolwork. My favorite things they have on their menu are the strawberry lemonade and the oatmeal cookie! The strawberrylemonade is my favorite thing on this planet and I can?t get enough of it, and every cookie they have is baked to perfection!! Ican not say enough good things about this place, the workers, and it?s owners it is a 10/10 and an amazing addition to thissmall town, I drive the thirty minutes down 377 to get there weekly and it has been worth it every single time!
Super cute aesthetically pleasing shop with so much potential! However the barista we had was very smug and not friendly what so ever. The coffee quality was also not up to par, I got a regular vanilla latte which had a lot of coffee grounds at the bottom of it and tasted old/burnt. I also got a coffee flight which was honestly awful did not taste like the flavors we asked for almost on purpose. The cinnamon roll was good but was not offered for it to be warmed. The muffin very much tasted old. For it be $35 I would say not worth it and will not be returning unfortunately.
I believe I've discovered my new favorite spot for breakfast or dessert! The staff here are incredibly welcoming, and I absolutely adore the atmosphere. The layout is really unique. I appreciate how this establishment openly expresses their love for Jesus—because without Him, nothing else truly matters. They beautifully share the gospel through their delicious food, uplifting music, and the warmth of friendship they provide. I would rate this place a perfect 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it over other cookie shops that start with a T and a C!
