Gold Canyon - Apache Junction
Gold Canyon
Description
This cozy café serves generous, home-cooked portions—fresh-baked bread, homemade fries and onion rings, standout breakfasts, and comforting classics—often delivered with friendly, attentive service and comfortable seating, making it popular with groups and regulars.
That said, growing pains show: inconsistent lunch quality, occasional soggy items, frequent menu stockouts, long waits when understaffed, and a 3.5% credit-card surcharge. Best for breakfast or planned group visits; expect variability during busy times.

Parking: There's a spacious, free parking lot. Kid-friendliness: Definitely yes. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.
If you're in search of large servings of rather mediocre food, this is the spot for you. What a difference a year can make! I would recommend only visiting for breakfast, as the lunch options lack flavor. Be aware that they charge a 3.5% fee for credit card payments, which feels quite unfair. It’s a one-time experience for me! And as for the tall, bald guy—what a character! He must be from the Midwest.
It was our first time at this restaurant, and my boyfriend and I had breakfast. He ordered a burrito, while I chose the rancheros, and both dishes were delicious!
The portions were huge! The food was tasty, and the service was very friendly. It felt like classic home-cooked meals. This was a delightful surprise, and we will definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
