Im shocked to see low ratings for this lovely local cafe. Had a nice breakfast on our arrival on the island. The staff made every attempt to speak English to us and understand what we wanted. We ate here or had a coffee or a drink at this lovely spot every day of our 8 day stay. This was the only negative experience during our ten-day trip. The food took forever to arrive, was not at all as described, tasted bland or bad. When offered a vegetarian option, one of us received a plate of salty zucchini pieces for which we were charged a lot of money—they thought we wouldn’t understand and billed us for a seafood dish instead. Located in Praça Velho with indoor seating and in warmer weather outside in the square Good place for a very tasty cheap lunch choice from six dishes at 5€ plus drinks. Service friendly and quick Recommended

We thought it would be best to pay and leave. Similarly, asking about specific pastries, we were directed to those we weren’t interested in instead because they were more expensive. Just stay away!
