Went to bar for coffee and tapas for second visit, cannot say the drink or food was bad as it was quite nice...but on this second visit when paying I thought th... read more Went to bar for coffee and tapas for second visit, cannot say the drink or food was bad as it was quite nice...but on this second visit when paying I thought the price was rather high for a little Spanish back street bar and more than first visit..I dont normally query a price but this time I asked if the price was correct, the barman immediately pulled out a saucer that you have with cup of coffee on and said that size tapas would have been cheaper...that did not go down well with me, I paid my bill and have not been back and never will..gave me bad vibes, we not holiday makers, we live here so know how things work...

We ordered 5 differen... read more Called in for an impromptu lunch. There isn't a menu del día but there is a huge range of tapas and a good selection of platos combinados. We ordered 5 different tapas to share between two. The mussels, pinchos, jubia and russian salad were very tasty but the musolitos- a crab seafood type rissole with its own mini crab claw cocktail stick was absolutely divine! The portions served were much bigger than the normal tapas. I would definitely recommend as everything was tasty and beautifully cooked and well presented. The staff were attentive and very welcoming and cheerful. The toilets were immaculately clean as was the whole premises in general.

I had no high hopes of what we would get but was pleasantly surprised. The lady serving us gave us an English menu, a couple of things weren't available but what we ordered was really good. We had quite a few tapas, two beers, bottle of wine, tea and coffee and came to under 25 euros. Would recommend it and go back if we are ever in Albox again

The menu is basic but excel... read more Wassy's has been part of the Albox scene for more than a dozen years. The staff are very helpful and the waiter speaks good English. The menu is basic but excellent value for money. We had a small plate of spicy squid to share from the tapa menu and then chose our dishes from the board showing photos of all the meals available. We had a nice salad each to start which is part of the deal. Then my wife had swordfish and chips with a fried egg (everything comes with a fried egg) and I had three pieces of perfectly cooked, tasty pork with chips and the fried egg. We had a bottle of agua con gas, a bottle of Rioja and two coffees, and the bill came to 27 euros. Highly recommended for cheap, tasty nosh.
