The Ledford House - ALBION

I was pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant in California where I wanted to try nearly everything on the menu! I ended up trying oysters, snails, rabbit, latte, and dessert, and even got a filet mignon to go! The freshly baked bread was a special treat! The owners are doing a fantastic job. All the food I ordered was so delicious that I can't wait to come back.

Surprisingly great food in this somewhat out-of-the-way location that is the favorite of all the coast locals. I’m told that the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team with the wife being the head cook. It’s consistently really great food with reasonable prices for what is being served. Melissa, the bartender, makes really great cocktails and there is an extensive list of starters and bar snack items. Local fish, duck and lamb are usually on the menu. Also oysters. The big items are really tasty, such as the tarts they bake themselves. Really good value, also on a clear day it can be a spectacular view of the ocean from the west facing windows.

The view is spectacular of course…but so is the food! French Provençal style food…fresh and delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary.
