Crispy Cod - Aberdare
Crispy Cod
Description
Nestled by a handy car park, this neighborhood fish-and-chips spot serves generous, often piping-hot portions with friendly, attentive service and a spotless counter. Diners praise speedy delivery, thoughtful touches (apology notes, small desserts) and bold flavors like Irish curry. However, experiences vary: some orders arrive cold, greasy, or overbattered, with inconsistent cooking and occasional long waits. Recommended for quick takeaways and budget lunches, but expect fluctuating quality.

I returned last week for chips and gravy. While the gravy was acceptable, the chips were cold, hard, and had a rubbery texture. I was also taken aback when the server charged me £3.80, whereas my last takeaway order had only been £2.50. Unfortunately, I’m not planning to go back again!
Always good food a proper fish and chip shop sells all the traditional items you get in a fish and chip shop. Never disappointed
Chips were yesterday's, thrown back in the fryer. Never tasted anything like it, have ate better McCain's microchips. I won't be going to the co-owned kebab shop on the end now, either. God knows what they get up to.
The food was delicious and was delivered exceptionally quickly. There was a small mistake with my order, but it was corrected right away with sincere apologies. To top it off, there was a "sorry" note included in the box with a delightful chocolate dessert. Thank you so much, everyone. The customer service was truly outstanding!
Overall, it was a decent experience. The portion of fresh chips was quite generous. The sausage was a bit greasy, but the Irish curry had a unique flavor that I enjoyed, although it might be too strong for some people. In general, it was satisfactory. The service was very friendly and engaging, which I really appreciated.
