Contribute FeedbackWhen it comes to bakeries and cake shops in Nishiaizu-cho, Ishii is the place to go. I always stop by whenever I visit Nishiaizu. Let me introduce the charms of this store in order. The location is a bit hard to find. It's just a 3-minute walk from Nozawa Station, but because it's on a side street, if you turn the wrong way, you could end up missing the station. The prices are reasonable. Cakes are 150 yen each, with only the shortcake priced at 200 yen. Most bread items are 100 yen. Some might joke about the cost of ingredients being just flour, but it's all in good fun. Initially, I thought the cakes were bought from companies like Yamaki, but after trying them, I realized that they are actually made in the store. The atmosphere is retro. Despite pressure to renovate along the way, they have kept their doors open for 30-40 years, which is quite impressive. Furthermore, if you buy a lot, the total bill tends to be casual, and if you buy a cake, a candle comes with it. There are many spontaneous events that you can only experience by visiting.
My mom was very pleased with the affordable prices.
