This restaurant has a convenient location and fair prices, but suffers from slow service and occasional order mistakes. While the food is okay, there are better options nearby for Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisines. However, some reviewers love the fresh and flavorful dishes, especially the veggie Pho and sushi. They warn that the spicy dishes are very hot and recommend dialing down the heat level. The owners are friendly, and the wide selection of dishes includes many noodle options. Overall, this restaurant offers good value for money, but diners should be cautious with spice levels and allergies.

Absolutely love this place and continue to go back time and time again. I almost always have the huge bowl of veggie Pho, as it is the best around, but have also had some of the curries and the rice paper rolls. The owners are very sweet and friendly. Be warned, spicy dishes are very hot. I highly suggest taking it down a couple notches from what you would normally choose at other places. ie if you normally choose me... View all feedback.
What Nannie Olson dislikes about Vangs Restaurants:
I keep giving this restaurant another chance because the prices are fair and the location is convenient for me. Unfortunately, the majority of times I have visited over the last 10ish years, they usually seem understaffed. Whether I be ordering out or eating in, the service is usually slow and I've experienced multiple times when our orders have been incorrect... with that being said, the food is ok but there are bet... There is a wide selection of food available at this restaurant. Although I have not tried their sushi, I have heard that there are better options in the city. However, they do have a diverse menu to choose from.
The Thai cuisine is lacking in seasoning - they rely heavily on spicy heat rather than enhancing the flavors.
My wife and I always have the N9 vegetarian. We omit the carrots and pea pods and have all broccoli. It is very good! The mild has quite a bit of spice and heat to it. So if you don't like hot at all get no spice. They use a lot of garlic as well so we ask for not a lot of it. It's so yummy!
I really enjoyed the Pad Thai with brown rice at this restaurant. I appreciated being able to choose the level of spiciness from 1 to 10, and I selected level 5, which turned out to be quite spicy.

Be warned, spicy dishes are very hot. I highly suggest taking it down a couple notches from what you would normally choose at other places. ie if you normally choose medium, go mild or even very mild. The food is very fresh and flavourful, and the portions are big. I look forward to going back very soon!
