What Lumens dislikes about Sol Mexican Cocina:
An extremely disappointing experience. We came here because of the positive reviews and were met with very bland, overcooked food and non existent service. We were the only table in the restaurant and it still took over 25 minutes to get our food. The chips were very hard and tasted of old frying oil- likely too thick of tortilla. The Mexican food here is excellent and truly authentic! The menu offers a fantastic variety, and the server was both pleasant and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered.
If you want authentic food, you must come here!!! For the first time, we tried guatemaltecos! Delicious!!! Like a large pork tamale wrapped in banana skin and steamed!! Tamales were also excellent. You can sit in and order or order outside. There is alarge outdoor area to eat outside, if you choose to do that. We will be back!! Food and people were wonderful!!
I had tacos of carne and tripa... Tripa tacos were great remind me of tacos in Los Angeles. The carne was minced and dry had no flavor. Chips and salsa was really good. Tasted the tamales They were dry and flavorless. I asked the hostess what part ofMexico because it says Mexican food she answered i don 't know I asked her what the shrimp cocktail sauce was made of sheanswered I 'm not sure I think V8 ... Horchata is made from a package.. was very unimpressed with the service and food.
