The chicken fried steak is outstanding. The portions are generous, and it’s absolutely delicious. Be sure to keep your current chef; they are doing an amazing job!
I received my order with only two pieces of chicken and no mozzarella sticks, which definitely doesn't justify the $20 price tag.
The chocolate cake tastes like a little piece of heaven in every bite. Every time I have the apple pie, it reminds me of the wonderful memories from my fourth birthday in July.
Jack's Mess serves a delicious biscuit topped with hash browns, eggs, gravy, cheddar cheese, and an applewood-smoked sausage patty, accompanied by coffee. The hash browns were perfectly crisp and golden-brown, while the eggs were cooked to perfection. The biscuit was light, fluffy, and generously sized. The sausage had just the right amount of seasoning—not too salty or spicy—and had a delightful applewood smoke flavor. The portion sizes are ample enough for lighter eaters to share. The coffee was full-bodied with a rich taste, featuring a subtle hint of dark chocolate. The dining area is very clean and well-kept. Additionally, the plates and cups are humorously oversized and heavy, which makes one feel a bit of sympathy for the waitstaff and bussers who have to carry them, even when they’re empty.
The atmosphere was wonderful, with a variety of traditional American dishes available. The service was commendable. The quality of the food was good, and the portion sizes were generous. However, it felt a bit pricey considering the quality of the food.
