Another fantastic dining experience! All three of us enjoyed our meals, beginning with the truffle fries and a Caesar salad. For the main course, we had the risotto, cod cakes, and pork chop, all beautifully prepared. Teena and her team were exceptional, and the cocktails were fabulous. Great job, everyone! The food was decent—neither exceptional nor terrible. However, the restaurant had an unusual odor and felt somewhat outdated. Many of the menu items appeared to be quite simple, yet they were presented with more sophisticated names to enhance the fine dining atmosphere. Chris has welcomed the mentorship of Skip and given that Chris had been the chef, Elixir has been able to maintain its standard of excellence. Interesting fare, unpretentious, a delightful place.
We didn’t have a reservation but luckily they have a table for us on a (crowded) Thursday night there. We got the recommended special menu of the day. Just enough food for a full and satisfied meal. Excellent service.
We had a really good time at Elixir restaurant in WRJ VT tonight. The menu had several starter options and two pages of dinner entree options. I had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded yummy. Our waiter was very informative and super friendly. He was able to share some great details about individual menu options such as how something is made, the flavor profile, the quality , etc.. He asked questions about our preferences and was very attentive. He made us feel like our experience and satisfaction mattered. The food was so delicious! We started with the coconut curry mussels. They were cooked perfectly and the coconut curry broth was well balanced and loaded with flavor. The mussels were served with a nice local bread that held up well for soaking up the broth. I ordered the Island Farro Salmon and my date ordered the Shrimp Scampi. Both dishes were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I was also surprised how quickly our food was served. The portions were perfect size too not too little nor too much food. We both finished our plates and were satisfied but decided to split a dessert because they have bananas foster bread pudding with a rum caramel sauce. It was served with their own homemade vanilla ice cream. Sooo yummy!! A must try! We were also impressed at the waiter wiping the crumbs off our table after our dinner and before dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed.
