Feedback
Wayne Steakhouse offers well-executed steaks with interesting family sides and the convenience and affordability of BYOB dining. However, some customers have reported disappointing service experiences, including long wait times and forgetful waitstaff. Despite these issues, the quality of the steaks remains high, with many customers praising the flavor and tenderness of the meat. The restaurant can be loud on busy nights, but the bustling atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience. Overall, Wayne Steakhouse is a popular choice for carnivores looking for a delicious steak dinner in a lively setting.
I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened 10 years ago! It has never been this loud before. I understand that you had a large sports gathering with 70 or 80 guys, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time. There were 6 of us dining and we couldn't even hear each other talk! It was supposed to be a birthday gift for my husband, paid for by our kids, but we couldn't enjoy joking and reminiscing about their childhood. There were only 11 women in the entire restaurant and 3 of them were with us. The kids were disappointed.
We have visited Wayne Steakhouse multiple times over the past few years. They consistently cook their steaks and filet mignons to our preferred medium rare doneness. We appreciate that the meat is lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, a detail they always get right. Although the lobster bisque recipe has been changed, we couldn't quite put our finger on what was different this time compared to previous visits. The house salad and onion rings remain delicious as always. The jumbo lump crab cake has also been altered since our last visit six months ago, now containing tomato chunks which we found unnecessary but did not detract from the overall flavor. The light sear and crunchy exterior of the crab cake, along with minimal breading, are highlights for us. We opted to have the Dijon mustard sauce on the side, which turned out to be a good decision. Overall, Wayne Steakhouse is a solid restaurant that we plan on returning to in the future.
We experienced discrimination based on our party size at this restaurant. Despite being a party of two, we were forgotten about and had to ask three times for water. The calamari was overcooked and the service was lacking. The waiter seemed to only care about his two large parties. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Unfortunately, the lobster tail had a strong ammonia-like smell that I couldn't tolerate, so I sent it back as well. The onion rings were enjoyable; they had just the right amount of batter, which we appreciated. The mashed potatoes were okay, but they seemed to be just plain potatoes and water without any special ingredients. The crab cake was packed with crab meat, but it was slightly too salty. As a nice gesture, our waiter offered us the crab cake and the second order of onion rings complimentary to make up for the issue with the lobster tail, which was very thoughtful of him.
Overall, fell pretty short of expectations, mostly driven by the service. Though the servers were very polite/friendly, they were not very good and essentially lacked experience, esp when you are paying $70 for a steak. Had to ask for silverware, water, remind them to fill the water, never checked in to see how the food was, difficult to flag them down, even tough it wasn't too busy, and mainly, my wife requested her steak without butter due to an allergy, but they cooked both that way, so my steak lacked any flavor. Also her steak was very rare when she asked for medium. Atmosphere was average, but my table was no different than a sea saw. No manager was in sight all night. Won't be returning.
