Was Anonym at Harmony Lunch a mag?
I'm glad I was able to take my family to the Harmony before they close their doors at the end of the month.My son and I had the homemade pork hamburgers. They were quite good. I asked for the works and especially enjoyed the fried onions on my cheeseburger. My wife had a soup and sandwich. She said the homemade soup was very good.We saw the owner come out of the kitchen. What Anonym dislikes about Harmony Lunch:
Must agree with all of the other posts. Extremely expensive-- average sized burger and fries are $12. I do admit that my burger was good. My wife had the breakfast and the hash browns were burnt. No jam for the toast. She said the small breakfast was OK but for $8, you can get much better in size and taste. The service was extremely slow. I am thrilled that Harmony has reopened! I visited on opening day and the service was outstanding, the food was amazing (the onions were especially delicious), and the Chef took the time to come talk to my group even though he was busy. The atmosphere was lively with a barbershop quartet singing and prizes being given out in line. Harmony is a wonderful staple in Waterloo and I am excited to try their breakfast options. I absolutely love Harmony!
The food was delicious. I found some items on the menu to be a bit expensive, but there are definitely affordable options available. The service staff was excellent, my food arrived promptly, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. This restaurant is great for enjoying tea, dining alone, eating with a group, having a family meal, and more.
Took my two ladies there for a impromptu late dinner tonite. Not sure why so many people give poor/lacklustre reviews. I had their their double pork burger (sans fromage and the ladies both had BLTs. Fries, gravy and cheese sauce (which the ladies loved rounded off the meals. We all liked our food ... I thought that the pork burger was very flavourful (loved all the onions! and the ladies wanna come back for the sandwiches (so I guess they liked it a lot as well . Our waitress was actually very friendly and attentive, and service was quick enough. We have no complains about going there tonite. Prices are a bit high when compared to other fast food joints, but when compared to other unique/specialty burger restaurants or pubs in K/W, the prices are actually in line and fair. We'll be back.
I haven't been to Harmony Lunch before the renovations but I quite like what they did with this. Good ol' diner feel but sloppy delicious burgers and comfortable ambiance. People were very friendly too.
Best Burger in town, really based on the party flavour and texture. Forever onions help. Add in the giant milkshakes, and you have a winning meal every time. I don't like any of their preparations of potatoes, but to me that is forgivable given the great burgers.
