Was lance at Cafe Ohi'a a mag?
Joyce and her husband Craig are the nicest people we met on the whole island! They were a perfect wake up place to go. I had more than enough food and coffee for less than $15.00 and my friend loved their chocolate brownie! You should visit here. View all feedback.
What Mackenzie Kelbel dislikes about Cafe Ohi'a:
Stopped here for breakfast before heading to volcano national park. We both got the breakfast bowl. Very simple breakfast, plain white rice, egg, then meat, fairly bland. Nothing special or to brag home about. Staff were not the friendliest, maybe it was just early. Price was reasonable compared to anywhere else in the park. There are tables to sit at outside that are covered but it was raining that morning. Wouldn’t... View all feedback.
This was the perfect way to wrap up our final night in Volcano. The fresh ingredients were delightful, and I can honestly say it was the best pork chop I've ever had. The service was speedy and friendly, and the dining area was cozy, featuring a view of the kitchen and wood-fired oven. I also appreciated their commitment to safety during the pandemic; I felt completely safe and well taken care of!
Where should I start? The food, service, and Covid safety measures are all outstanding. The seafood pasta was absolutely incredible. My wife ordered the local fish with rice; it may sound simple, but the rice was of sushi quality, and the fish was grilled to perfection with a nice crispy exterior. We managed to walk in without a reservation and were fortunate to get a table thanks to the friendly and skilled staff. Make sure to check their hours and book a seat as soon as possible. Enjoy!
I was truly impressed by how the management supported their staff and stood firm against that kind of treatment. The hostess handled herself beautifully, remaining kind despite his aggression. It's essential to remember to be kind to service workers. The staff went above and beyond for us because we treated them like human beings. With only one server on duty, who was clearly overwhelmed, a little patience goes a long way! We found the staff to be warm, appreciative, and welcoming. And the food? Incredible! The cauliflower appetizer was fantastic, the pizza crust tasted like a delicious puff pastry, and the desserts were to die for! We dug in so quickly that we forgot to take pictures of the desserts (even the elegant baked Alaska), but it was the best meal we've had on the island. I noticed some people were upset about the masking and vaccination requirements, but I actually found it refreshing to see an establishment that prioritizes public health over profit. It was reassuring to dine in a place that takes these matters seriously, especially when so many seem to want to brush them aside. We typically only eat outdoors, so with limited options, knowing that everyone indoors was vaccinated and that some staff and customers were wearing masks helped ease our anxiety. If the requirements bother you, please remember that the staff you interact with likely aren't the ones who set these rules, which are meant to protect everyone. It's essential to treat them kindly, as they are hardworking individuals in the service industry. Please, be considerate!
