The food is generally quite good. During the winter, there tends to be a wider variety of hot meals, while summer options can be somewhat repetitive, though still enjoyable. My only complaint lies with some of the patrons, not the volunteers. At times, the atmosphere can be very loud and stressful, with fights and arguments breaking out occasionally. Great people volunteer their time and offer ANYONE a hot meal. Mon Fri, lunch dinner. Sat Sun just breakfast dinner.
I was fortunate to volunteer there this evening and I felt that it was a very positive experience. This evening, we were able to feed 57 people. Food is provided. Groups come prior to their scheduled day and time to plan the menu. It looks like the schedule is at least two weeks out.It looked as though our services were truly appreciated. The two gentlemen who assisted us were very helpful, and they appreciated the fact that cleaned up after ourselves. They are there to monitor the dining room and to assist with the equipment.
