Nestled in the heart of Yaletown, B49 Bakery and Coffee has quickly garnered a loyal following for its Japanese cheese tarts, cream puffs, and cheesecakes. The warm, flaky crust of the cheese tarts, available in both original and unique flavors, pairs delightfully with rich fillings. While some flavor combinations leave room for improvement, the overall quality justifies the premium prices. The freshly piped cream puffs are a must-try, offering a crispy exterior and flavorful filling. Despite occasional long lines and limited seating, this bakery is a dessert lover's paradise worth visiting again and again.

Was Joseph Griffin at Bake49 a mag?
Long line. Feels bad when the person in front of you clears out the entirety of one item. That said, the tarts were good and its packaging was also multi-tiered and fancy. The cheesecake was very delicious, with different textures and a nice balance of flavors. Premium price for premium quality. View all feedback.

What Alice L dislikes about Bake49:
I arrived just as the cheese tarts were being served to see what all the buzz was about. It was my first time trying a cheese tart, and although it was warm and flaky, the tartness of the cheese didn't quite mix well with the black sesame. The combination was a bit strange, with the savory and sweet flavors not quite harmonizing. View all feedback.
