Was Ferdinand Röthlisberger at Project 8 Cafe a mag?
During the current lockdown, this restaurant is only open for takeout orders. I found it to be very quiet when I visited and ordered an afternoon piccolo for myself. The coffee was actually quite good and the decor was pleasing as well. I even thought it would make a nice Instagram picture. View all feedback.
What Birgit Mayr dislikes about Project 8 Cafe:
I took the Spicy roasted chicken Katsu... not much taste in it, not spicy at all... The chips are very small: and I try the cream and ugly bacon sauce... what the hell! Gross View all feedback.
Saw it purely by chance and thought I would grab a quick light lunch. It's a great new space and with a wonderful vibrant atmosphere. The lunch menu is a little pricy but really most items are less than $20. Good coffee. Had the steak sandwich, came with a small portion of chips. I really enjoyed it (Wonderful components) but weirdly the sandwich is also my biggest reason for rating the visit a four rather than a five. The bread just wasn't appropriate for a sandwich of this type. It became really soggy when the steak juices socked it making the sandwich messy to eat. Service was a bit iffy; getting a table, water and food were great but after nobody followed up to see if I wanted anything else. Would I go back. Absolutely!!
The recently introduced burgers are tasty and a good mid-price option if you're looking for something other than the asian-style cuisine that pervades the
Project 8 has a real casual vibe - no airs or hoity toity fancy stuff, and it doesn't even feel that self-consciously hipster either.
Do not judge this restaurant by its small entrance; once inside, you will discover a cozy beer garden and charming little rooms. The burgers are delicious, especially the Spicy BBQ Roll breakfast burger with crispy bacon, gooey egg, and a warm brioche bun. The take-away coffee cups are also a nice touch with inspiring words that brighten my day.
I visited the coffee shop on a quiet Monday morning and only saw a couple of people stopping by for takeout during the hour I was there. We ordered two coffees that were both delicious. The iced latte had a nutty flavor with milk-based espresso, while the cold drip coffee had a fresh, sour, fruity taste. The barista was quick, friendly, and accommodating. The modern decor of the space provided many Instagram-worthy photo opportunities. I liked the cold drip coffee so much that I bought a bag of their coffee beans to use for my home brew filter. The 250g bag of coffee beans cost $18.
