Good breakfast place. Located in the nice neighborhood. Service was excellent. Every time I put down my fork to finish my plate the waiter was there to take the plate. The food was good but nothing special. Based on the reviews I was expecting something exceptional. My expectations weren’t met. Maybe that’s my personal problem. We had Eggs Benedict and Salty French Toast. View all feedback.

Everything is just delicious! It's hard to choose but whatever you choose you won't be wrong! All freshly cooked with by lovely people! Can't wait before going back one last time before leaving Tulum and I went twice already!
Alegría was one of the highlights of our trip! We stumbled upon it our second day in Tulum and stopped by almost every day of our 8 day trip. The food and all the drinks we had were AMAZING and it deserves nothing less than 5 stars. My partner loves the chilaquiles and French toast. I was a huge fan of their chai tea, the mango smoothie and their chia bowl. However, we tried many other items and they were all wonderful. Also all the gentlemen working at this restaurant, shout out to Juan Jose, were exceptional. They not only remembered some of our orders, but gave us local recommendations which is how we found some of our favorite dinner spots. We’re leaving late morning today and fitting in another visit.
We came here because of excellent reviews and had super high expectations. I can’t say we were disappointed but we didn’t get what the hype was about. The Eggs Benedict was beautifully presented but nothing special taste wise. Salty French toast was just ok, kinda boring looking and boring tasting. Everything is fresh, and coffees are good, our server was very attentive. Atmosphere was nice just because of their outdoor seating, they have no seating inside, and the good music was coming from the neighboring restaurant. Overall it’s a decent breakfast spot but not a five star one for me
My wife and I visited here on our anniversary trip to Tulum. We were wandering around this area and came across Alegría. This cafetería is by far the best breakfast experience! We are from Los Angeles and are fans of delicious foods and fun brunch places. We ended up eating at Alegría TWICE (we rarely visit a restaurant more than once on vacation so we can try more places . The food here rivals the balanced flavor profiles of some of our favorite restaurants. There is care and intention with every dish and every presentation, from the food to the exotic smoothies and coffee. We had a lovely conversation with Rebecca and got to learn a lot about the restaurant and the culture of cooking food with love. Our server Oscar was so nice and attentive. The kitchen staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Even though we must go back home, we will be craving Alegría until we come back to Tulum (or they come to LA !
