Our group enjoyed a wonderful meal at Penca. The food was outstanding, particularly the homemade corn tortillas. Everything we tasted was delicious, and the sangria was unique, yet refreshing and enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Penca:
This restaurant is wonderful, and we instantly loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The drink menu was truly unique, and the cocktail I had was the highlight of the experience—I chose the Diabolo! The menu is clearly listed and offers a variety of vegan options. They also have gluten-free choices, but you need to ask for details to be sure. I tried the enfrijoladas, which were both gluten-free and vegan. Hon... View all feedback.
Excellent food, excellent service. Group of four were all happy with the experience. Definitely a sophisticated, adult venue.
Good food, okay at best service and found reservation system questionable. Tried to increase reservation from two to three and they told us they couldn't do it, totally full. We sat in a room with several open tables all during dinner.
Booked for Thurs night at 8:30. Place was crowded as a big party was anticipated in back room. Fairly short wait for drinks and 1st course. Very long wait for main meal. Overall food was just ok. Really liked the ambiance of the place just wish the food was better. Mushrooms accompanying fish dish were swimming in grease, sadly unedible!
Lovely little upscale Mexican restaurant tucked away downtown with great food and service. Our appetizers and churros were lovely even with the peanut salsa. Aside from the table that tilted to the side, no complaints and bring thanks to Paula for agreat night. See you soon Penca!
My wife and I recently went for dinner to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. When we arrived, we got a seat towards the back. It was nice and quiet which was perfect. However, the kitchen door would remain cracked which was distracting seeing the cooks. Idid see some wipe their forehead or scratch their nose with the back of their hand with the same gloves they use to cook. Notthe best thing to see before you eat. We get how kitchens work but we preferred not to see that. We didn't make a big stink, butwe asked to be seated somewhere else which happened with no problem. The waitress was nice and knew the Menu well. We got somecocktail to start which were nice. I got the drink with bacanora which was strong but flavorful. For the appetizer, we got thebone marrow. It was hardy and seasoned just enought where you can enjoy the marrow. It comes with pickled onion, chimichurri Ibelieve, and warm Tortillas. We made a taco out of it and crush it quick. For entree, I got the beef ribs with hominy. It wasperfect. It had a raspberry sauce I believe with some greens to make it pop. 10 of out 10 dish. My wife got the fish. Honestly,it was underwhelming for the price point. At around 30 bucks, i would have expected a better delivery. It might be pan searedperhaps but it came in a bit dry. By itself, it was okay. The toppings saved the day. I would not order that again. We finishedwith a round of drinks and called it a night.
