Feedback
Yasu offers a high-end culinary experience with excellent service, although some reviewers found the prices to be steep given the quality of the dishes. The omakase menu includes a variety of unique and delicious fish options, with some diners praising the upscale atmosphere and attention to detail in each dish. While some guests felt that the value for money could be improved, others appreciated the generous portions and premium ingredients used. Overall, Yasu provides an enchanting dining experience for sushi lovers looking to indulge in a special occasion meal.
Yasu is imo, the best sushi restaurant in Toronto. I prefer it over many of the popular high-end spots like Kaji and JaBistro. While those places offer non-sushi courses and more unique options like aburi as part of their omakase, Yasu offers only edo style sushi, which is my preference. Make sure to book a table the sushi table to enjoy it fully. Sake pairing is expensive but if you like sake, I highly recommend it - it pairs with the sushi perfectly. While Yasu recently raised their prices, it's still in line with other high-end sushi restaurants in Toronto. Reservations are extremely difficult to secure and you pretty much have to book it exactly 60 days from when you want to go.
They did everything on the spot and explained clearly where things are from and especially when I have the wine pairing. A very good experience and the service is very good ????
I went there with my son and daughter (my two fave people in the world) for dinner. It took many, many tries to find and get a reservation--- the place is small and extremely popular. I suggest you book way in advance. There were three chefs making the omakase dishes for the 14 or so diners. The three of us got lucky and were served by the great Yasu himself! What a delight to watch them prepare each masterpiece with focus and dedication before popping them into your mouth for a complex, yet subtle flavour explosion that built upon itself with each morsel. You really get a sense for the mastery involved. We had eighteen pieces each as part of the omakase selection and we each ordered 2 extra pieces a la carte. Wow!!! This was an extremely enjoyable night and a very satisfying meal. I felt like a kid in a candy store!
We had several other Omakase experiences. Yasu was ok but not anything unique or special and not my top 5! The saki parings was very simple all the sakis taste similar, compare to my other experiences it was not good. It was not very expensive, but compare to what experience you get, it was not worth it. We will not go back , as it was not anything special
