There are a few places to have dim sum in Toronto's Chinatown. Sky Dragon is my go to place. Dim sum is carted around and the staff state what foods they have. The waiter calculated our bill by hand in the end. I wonder how accurate it was; but since it's not a large amount, I didn't bother to ask him how he came up with the number!
First time in Toronto not sure where to go for dim sum in the vast China town of Toronto, asked a local lady on the street, she recommended a few nearby and this place being the nearest so we went there.And what a wonderful surprise! Traditonal restaurant with view of Toronto tower and the city centre. Dimsum on trolleys were freshly cooked served by helpful and friendly ladies, instantly transfer you to one of those old time favorite in Hong Kong, full of character. We had our usuals and so tasty! Such a nice find and pleasant experience, can't thank the lady recommended to us enough! Highly recommended!
My sister and I were browsing around Toronto's Chinatown and happened across Sky Dragon while we were looking for Dim Sum. This place was great? That had an extensive selection at very reasonable prices. They also have regular dinners if that is what you want. The food seemed very authentic. The restaurant is hidden at the top of the a small mall at the corner of Spadina
I would rate the food at Sky Dragon a 3.0 and the ambiance a 0.5. Our pick-up arrived promptly at 11:30am, and we made our way to the restaurant without any issues. Despite being seated near the kitchen, it actually turned out to be a good thing as we were able to see all the food options on the push carts before they reached our table. We enjoyed a variety of dishes such as shrimp rice rolls, congee, Chinese donut, and gyoza. While the food was not as exceptional as what we have had at Kirin City Square in Vancouver, the staff, particularly the push cart ladies, were all very kind to my mother. One lady even went above and beyond to cut her food into smaller pieces to make it easier for her to eat. We were also fortunate to be seated close to the person frying the taro and turnip cakes, so we were able to enjoy them fresh off the pan. After tax, the total bill came to $16.65, which I believe was a good deal for the quality of food and service we received.
This dim sum restaurant in Chinatown is excellent. The traditional dim sum is served from carts and is very reasonably priced. The quality of the dim sum is impressive, rivaling that of higher-end dim sum restaurants in Toronto.
