Was Brian Boehm at Red Castle a mag?
I had lunch at this restaurant with a colleague based on the recommendation of a few people whose opinions I sometimes question. However, I'm glad I decided to give it a try. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I ordered the mixed shawarma with a side salad, and the meat was flavorful. The beef was slightly dry, but still tasty. My colleague tried the burger special and was very impressed. The burg... View all feedback.
What Norval Krajcik dislikes about Red Castle:
The food here is ok, but like many of these places that have meat spinning on a stick cooking slowly, the trick is to get it when it's fresh. If you get the last portion that's been cooking half the day, it's obviously not going to taste as good as if it's freshly cooked. Same with the falafel balls that might have been cooked several hours ago and then re-warmed in the sandwich press - not nearly as good as when the... View all feedback.
Great value, but average taste Stopped by here last night for a quick dinner, but loved the atmosphere and ended up spending almost 2 hours here.
Was walking along the Danforth when we came across this place with decent rating and they had a sign out front which said "2 for 1 Shawarma".

The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I ordered the mixed shawarma with a side salad, and the meat was flavorful. The beef was slightly dry, but still tasty. My colleague tried the burger special and was very impressed. The burger was large and the price was reasonable. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I would recommend this place for delicious shawarma on the Danforth. Perhaps I should trust those 'suspect' opinions more often!
We visited this restaurant twice. The first time, the food was fantastic and delicious, but the service was incredibly slow. Waiting over 30 minutes for a sandwich was frustrating. However, we decided to give it another chance because the food was just that good. Thankfully, the second time we went, the cook was a very kind lady who not only prepared the food but also took care of the orders and served as a waitress. She was much quicker and friendlier than the previous server, who seemed rather grumpy, especially towards the young boy who was assisting and handling the register.
