Akira Back - Toronto
Menu
A comprehensive menu of Akira Back from Toronto featuring all 90 meals and drinks can be found here on the list.
Located in Toronto, Akira Back serves up a mixed dining experience that has left many patrons with varying impressions. While the ambiance and attentive service received high praise, the food itself evokes a more complicated response. Items like the ribeye and sushi did not consistently meet expectations for their price point, with some diners finding better value at casual eateries. However, standout dishes such as the Wagyu tacos and salmon tataki, alongside inventive cocktails, received commendations. Ultimately, for those seeking a visually appealing dining experience with a chic atmosphere, Akira Back may fit the bill, though culinary aficionados might find it lacking.

What the hell is this place?! Sushi is comparable to Japan authentic, and that pop rocking signature roll was amazing!! You could feel the pop rocks and it works sooo well with the rest of the ingredients in the roll! Gloria is such a lovely GM, and is the historian of the restaurant! And our server Maria was attentive and we loved her food suggestions. This was absolutely worth the price and we would come back again... View all feedback.
What Kenrick Phillip dislikes about Akira Back:
Food tastes okay (I guess) but I've certainly had much better sushi at a fraction of the price. $250 later my date and I were still hungry and went elsewhere after for more filling food. If you're in to taking pictures for the Gram or TikTok to look likeyou're cool, then I suppose you'll have a good time. If you're just a foodie like myself who thought a Michelin star would meanmind blowing food, set your expectation... View all feedback.

If there were half stars, we?d probably rate Akita a 3.5, reason being that it is good, but not as good as it should be given the price and the hype. The food presentation was top notch, but the taste itself was very average and thus underwhelming. Infact, I think we?ve had better sushi at takeout or even ready-made. We also tried the ribeye, and like everything else, thepresentation was good but the meat itself was underwhelming. It was chewy and tough, a very soft sear, and didn?t come with anysides. It was also oily which was unappealing. The octopus was surprisingly fried with a batter, which made it taste a bit likefried chicken. However, it was my favorite dish and the truffle potato fluff was delicious. The cocktails were disappointingand weak ? my first one tasted watered down and my girlfriend?s tasted like juice. Far too expensive for what they were. Thewaiting staff were quite nice and attentive. They were very accommodating even when we arrived late so the service gets a5/5. We will likely not be returning but if you want an upscale experience with mediocre food, then I would recommend it.
My husband and I were recommended to check this place out. We are so glad we did. Everything we ordered was unique, delectable and refined. I loved that they had non-alcoholic drinks on their drinks menu, as a non-drinker it was pleasant to see they accommodated for that. The menu was also written extremely well, you didn't have excessive, fancy verbiage. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable. The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and professional. I could go on and on. Highly recommend!
My most favorite restaurant in Toronto! If I can post a 7-star review for Akira Back Toronto every single time I dine here, I would. We come here at least twice a year, but if I can dine here once a month, I certainly would. Food is outstanding, service is stellar, atmosphere is chic. Recommend every single item on the menu. Dasha is amazing, but would choose Akira Back over it in a heartbeat. Would love to try all his other restaurants around the world.
This was a great spot for my husband's birthday, the food was delicious and presentation was on point. I will call out that salmon tataki for being fire! Great cocktails too. I definitely intend to go back.
