Delicious food, not your usual mountain farewell! cooked on perfection, attentive staff and a very nice evening.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and really excellent eating. large combination of the local kitchen savoyard and some larger influences. prepared and presented to perfection. great wine list, a few beautiful touches like a little funny bouche to go with the stunning bordeaux. even the cook comes out. to check how they enjoyed it and ask for feedback.
Very tiny and cozy and authentic restaurant, extremely friendly service and the absolutely best fondue-au-au-au-aage that I had ever had in my life, just amazingly well done, not hard, to creamy or sticky absolute perfection!
I made a reservation here weeks before our trip because the restaurant had vegetarian options and my year old wanted that. my French are not good, so I have an email with google translate and have a reservation. when I appeared (after an expensive taxi ride. from our hotel) with my party of the owner was appalled as she could not find us on the reservation book; when I found the e-mail exchange, she realized that you had made a mistake. we were very annoyed because we were hungry, was wasting an expensive car service there, and now had no other options as it was the holiday season. she was sooo apologetic. they got us a car (for which they paid) to bring us to the restaurant of a friend who approached our hotel and told the owners to make us apertifs available on the house. She later booked us in the week and told us how sorry she was for her mistake. we had a great meal in the other restaurant and returned to estanco for another good meal. very traditional food. we did not regret getting the raclette after we saw the table next to us! the eating was nice as the atmosphere, and we were so glad that the owner went so much to fix the mistake. she often returned to our table to order with advice, descriptions of the local food and place we should visit for snowshoeing and other activities. we will have gone back
The host was very welcoming and explained the menu in detail in English. All the food is home cooked and it was delicious.
