What User dislikes about Chowder House:
The food was not good but the service was. Had fish and chips, but the fish was mostly batter, and the chips had some kind of weird batter. Definitely don't recommend. 2 stars are only for the service. View all feedback.
We have been to the chowder house several times for breakfast and dinner. The fish and chips are the best around. Everything is very fresh and well presented. Nice atmosphere. I totally recommend this restaurant
Friendly staff. Fast service and great food! Absolutely no complaints! Street parking. Children's menu.
Good location, nice space. The chowder was a large serving and apparently tasted good, the Western was cool and soggy, the fish and chips were left unfinished - chips from a plastic bag and batter unpleasant. It could have been saved by decent service. One waitress - not ours - seemed friendly and attentive. We seated ourselves (the norm) and had to get our own menus. It wasn't busy. The waitress came to the table to see if we were ready to order, and came back to deliver the food. No pleasantries, no follow up to see how things were. I had to flag down the other waitress to get water. I didn't get condiments. My companion was disappointed that I left a tip at all, but it certainly wasn't what I would have normally left. Not a place I would return to, unfortunately.
While on my way to P.E.I's house, I stumbled upon this incredible restaurant just in time for a lunch break. The atmosphere was friendly, natural, and the food was excellent. I tried a seafood dish and a hot chicken sandwich, both made with high-quality ingredients. The hot sandwich was served with delicious pommes frites. Although I didn't have time for dessert, the selection looked tempting. At only $30 for the meal, it was a great deal and I definitely recommend this place!
Located in the heart of Tatamagouche, this bustling restaurant offers breakfast and dinner services. Despite their no reservation policy, they were able to accommodate the reservation we made months in advance. The chowder was delicious and the service was exceptional.
