On the way from Madrid to Mar Menor we stopped in this nice town for lunch. We have been very nicely served by the owners family. Food was very delicious, prices reasonable. They cook and treat their customers with passion, we will come back, of possible!
Excellent food. Cozy atmosphere and nice and efficient waiters! Anbefaler dagens meny, nydelig mat for en rimelig penge!
I regularly travel from Alicante to Madrid and Tarancon is my choice for lunch as it is less than an hour after that to Madrid. I went to Celia with my son last weekend, we were offered the weekend menu at €15 per head and chose the Russian Salad with smoked salmon and croquettes for the first course. Both were very good but I think the salad won. For mains we both had the Beef On Toast which sounds strange but it was excellent. Beautifully cooked beef on crusty bread with mushrooms and a honey and mustard dressing. Creme De Catalana for dessert which was decent topped off a fine lunch. Excellent value for money and a nice restaurant.
Great value menu of the day; 13 euros for 3 courses with wine! We had soup, salad and York Ham wrapped potato salad. Then Boquerones Frito, Cod with eggs and Cocido which is a stew with different meats and chickpeas. All traditional and fresh. Basic ambience, friendly staff and good service!
After reading the reviews for this restaurant on this very application, we decided to stop on our way from Madrid to the coast. It appears that there are mixed reviews for a reason. We seems to get an off day. The staff were nice, but not particularly attentive. The food was adequate; the bocadillo lomo con queso y tomate was substantial, but the scambled eggs with peppers weren't scrambled and didn't have much in the way of peppers. For pudding we had chocolate sponge cake masquerading as brownie. Thankfully it was served with ice cream otherwise it would have been too dry. We finished up with coffee, which was very good. All in all, a bit mixed. Maybe not good enough for a detour.
