This review is from my visit in 2018, before I transitioned to a vegan diet. I am not entirely certain, but I suspect the salad dressing and pasta sauce may have contained dairy. The restaurant is charming and typically requires reservations. The head chef, a friendly older woman, is quite skilled in the kitchen. While she used to specialize in Taiwanese cuisine, she later shifted to western dishes. My mother had made a lunch reservation for us in advance, which cost NT$380 per person. There is no set menu, but the dishes were mostly influenced by Italian cuisine. We enjoyed dishes such as vegetable soup, leafy salad, steamed vegetable dumplings, truffle oil pasta, and homemade Korean-style kimchi. Everything served is natural, healthy, and organic, and the chef has a loyal following of customers. My mother also purchased some ingredients from her, including red beans and brown rice. Her partner even gave us some oranges and suggested we use the peels when cooking the red beans. Additionally, you can order steamed buns over the phone for pick-up after 17:00, available in savory and sweet flavors such as salted mustard greens, cabbage, or black sesame paste.
This review is from when I visited in 2018 before I became vegan. I believe the salad dressing and pasta sauce may have contained milk, but I am not certain. The restaurant is a charming little place, only open for lunch. The chef is a friendly older woman who is clearly skilled in the kitchen. She used to cook Taiwanese dishes but has since transitioned to Western cuisine. My mother made a reservation for us at 380 NT per person. There is no menu, and the dishes are predominantly Italian-inspired, made with ingredients like sweet carrots, kabocha squash, oregano, black pepper, leafy salad with tomatoes, zucchini blossoms, purple cauliflower, red bell peppers, apples, mushrooms with tomato-based dressing, and olive oil - all natural, healthy, and organic. Some customers have been dining here for decades. Mom purchased two packages of red beans for 180 NT each and a package of brown rice for 450 NT, as the chef sources each ingredient with care. Her partner also gifted us three small oranges and recommended we dry the dishes and cook them with the red beans. Steamed rolls can be ordered over the phone for pick-up after 5:00 PM, coming in savory flavors like salted cauliflower or black sesame paste. *Review updated as of March 31, 2020.*
I visited this restaurant in 2018 before I became a vegan. While I can't be sure, it's possible that the salad dressing and pasta sauce contained milk. It is a lovely small restaurant that requires reservations. The chef, a kind older woman, is skilled in a variety of cuisines, starting with Taiwanese and transitioning to Western. My mother made a lunch reservation for us (NT$380 per person) and there was no menu. The dishes were mostly Italian-inspired, including vegetable soup, a mixed salad, and steamed vegetable dumplings. We also purchased red beans and brown rice from the chef, who sources ingredients carefully. She even gave us some oranges and cooking advice. You can also order steamed rolls over the phone for pick-up. The flavors are hearty and sweet, including salted mustard green, cabbage, or black sesame paste. This review was last updated in 2020.
