Feedback
Meriwether's presents a mixed dining experience, where the food quality often finds itself overshadowed by service inconsistencies. While some patrons rave about the flavorful lobster and filet specials, highlighting attentive service during celebrations, many others recount frustrating visits marred by unclear menus, untrained staff, and lack of attention. Issues such as delayed orders, incorrect meals, and unsatisfactory cleanliness further detract from the ambiance of the dimly lit restaurant. Overall, diners seem divided, echoing sentiments that while the culinary offerings can shine, the dining experience is frequently dimmed by service shortcomings.
Food was very good but service wasn’t too great. Deliver our main course and never checked back . I asked the host to get us our check and then he arrived.
Upon entering the restaurant, I witnessed the hostess expressing frustration about the busboy not fulfilling his duties and having to do them herself. I was seated at a table that didn't have any silverware and had to wait a long time before being acknowledged by a server who was arguing with the hostess about the table setup. The food was average at best and didn't justify the high prices. I had to wait for fresh bread but was only given doughy rolls. The atmosphere was dimly lit, old-fashioned, and unsanitary with musty carpets. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the menu and seasonal specials.
The best part of my dinner at Meriwether’s was the guest I had with me. The hostess was rude and the server was under-trained which led to a terrible dining experience. We waited for our menus, drinks and decent service. We ordered and had soft drinks but the service never reached anywhere near decent. My scallops were over cooked and the manger on duty seemed bothered that I inquired about them. I plan to make this my last visit to this restaurant. There is no reason for the lack of service we received other than clear incompetence. The server was not attentive at all. We only saw him when he needed to place an order. And then he got the order wrong but never checked if our meals prepared correctly. They were not. My guest blogs and usually takes pics of the courses but the bad service distracted her.
Overall food was excellent but svc a little disjointed . Would return again but confusion at times with the program between servers
