After a long walk we discovered Ca-Na-Bel and what a find. We had only gone in for coffee and on seeing the menu we decided to have lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and homemade, the service was excellent and just loved the lovely lady who served us. I know it's slightly off the tourist route, but please give it a visit, you won't be disappointed. View all feedback.

We came upon this place whilst out for a cycle from our base at the nearby Eurotel Punta Ratja it’s on the coast road a short distance away so not difficult to find! This is a quieter part of the island and there aren’t a huge number of places to eat out and this, for us, was a good example of a less touristy spot for lunch. It was busy and many of the diners appeared to be Spanish but fortunately one of the young waitresses had surprisingly spent a few years in Orkney, Scotland and was able to communicate with us in English. We ordered up the “Chuletas Cordero” grilled lamb chops) €11.75 and “Filete de Gallo Plancha” fillet of white fish) €10.75, both of which were served with potatoes and salad and whilst we waited had some bread and olives with Aioli €2). Meantime huge serving dishes were arriving on nearby tables stacked with paella which seemed to be a popular choice with several groups. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively and it was very pleasant just to sit and enjoy it. The lamb chops, reflecting the rather scraggy beasts we’d seen in the countryside, were not packed with meat however they were cooked to perfection and the flavour was very good indeed and the accompanying food was also much to my taste. My wife enjoyed the fish too and we both decided to finish off by having the panna cotta €4 per portion) which was also very good. Service was friendly and helpful and by the time we added a glass of wine and a coffee the meal for two was €40 excluding tip which we thought was very good value.
We found this place by accident as it 's getting off the normal tourist route, on the two occasions that we ate here it seemed very informal and popular with local families. They do a different menu of the day everyday and you get a choice of one of two starters and mains for 8Euros a head which we found to be very reasonable cost wise. I 'm going to add that we felt we 'd had a 'real ' plate of freshly prepared food and not just something straight out of a plastic bag deep fat fryer. They also had an a la carte menu and from what we saw of the other customers food it looked lovely. The service was also very good and the staff helped us out with ordering as we 're not very good at speaking Spanish.
