I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant! The service and location were excellent. The food was incredible, starting with the shoe-string fries served with rosemary and aioli, followed by a delicate calamari entrée, and the scallop ravioli paired with crisp leeks and pumpkin salad. Definitely worth the drive!
Finally, Sofala has a world-class dining option! We frequent this charming 1850s gold town and normally found ourselves heading to Rylstone or Bathurst for a meal or coffee, but not anymore. The Painted Horse Cafe offers fantastic food and coffee, as enjoyed today by Jan, Garry, Bob, and Di.
What a delight! This cafe is fantastic! The food and coffee are superb. Honestly, it's the best coffee we've had in ages, made from locally sourced, incredibly fresh beans. The service is lively, and the staff are full of local insights. You can really tell they are passionate about what they do! We're already looking forward to our next visit.
Dropped in for lunch on Saturday 12 May, I had the special of the day being Asparagus, poached eggs and shaved Parmesan on home baked sourdough. Cooked to perfection! My wife had the scones with jam and cream. She said they were amazing and was so impressed with the jam that we bought a jar. Fast service and friendly staff. Will be returning for sure
