The Venus Restaurant invites you to experience an evening or Sunday dinner tailored to your desires. Whether you're seeking an intimate dinner for two, planning a gathering with friends, or simply wishing to unwind on a relaxing evening out, our service and quality will meet everyone's expectations. Recently refurbished to a high standard, The Venus Restaurant offers the ideal setting for a leisurely lunch or a delightful evening. The main dining area, boasting low beamed ceilings and a charming stone-backed fireplace, is elegantly decorated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, all while preserving the traditional essence of the building's rich history. Steeped in history, The Venus Restaurant is a Listed Building dating back to the 1700s, formerly known as Church Farm. Before the 1900s, Dinnington was predominantly a farming community. Falcon Square once housed six farms within a short distance, but while many of the old buildings remain, the farms have faded into history. Today, aside from the Church Farm house—now our beloved restaurant—the dairy still stands, and the surrounding farm structures were converted into a garage in the 1950s. The last farmer to tend to Church Farm was Robert Fisher, who moved on to continue his agricultural endeavors at Throapham. In January 1935, Church Farm, along with other farms in the square, was sold off, marking the end of an era for the Athorpe Estate. We invite you to join us at The Venus Restaurant, where history and culinary excellence come together in perfect harmony.

Experience at this restaurant varied, with Valentine's Day being disappointing due to high cost and slow service, while Mother's Day and Sunday dinners were praised. The atmosphere received mixed reviews, with some mentioning it was lovely while others felt it needed improvement. The service was highlighted as excellent and the food delicious, with some recommending the Sunday Roast and others noting the large portions. Overall, it was seen as a top restaurant in England for its service and food quality, catering to various dietary restrictions. Prices ranged from £20-£70 per person.
