Our flagship restaurant with rooms has found its new home at the historic Oughtibridge Mill, reimagined to reflect our passion for flavour and hospitality. Since opening on December 4th, 2024, we have dedicated ourselves to crafting an unforgettable dining experience. At JÖRO, we pride ourselves on offering a distinct style of food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Our informal open-plan dining room features just 11 tables, creating an intimate setting where you can soak in the lively buzz of our kitchen. Here, every meal becomes an experience – a celebration of our complete devotion to the art of food. Emphasizing comfort and inclusivity, JÖRO has no dress code, welcoming guests of all ages to enjoy our exquisite tasting menus. Situated within the beautifully restored 19th Century Oughtibridge Mill, Luke and Stacey Sherwood French have breathed new life into this once-derelict paper mill, now enhanced with seven charming rooms. Dining at this Michelin Guide-listed restaurant is truly a fine dining experience, offering a variety of expertly prepared dishes in a unique setting. The 5-course menu offers a reasonably priced option for both newcomers to upscale dining and seasoned aficionados. The standout dish, Iberico pork, 'Imperial Kaigun Karē, left a lasting impression as one of the best pork dishes ever tasted. The knowledgeable and friendly staff enhanced the experience, explaining each plate and drink to perfection. With an exceptional atmosphere and impeccable service, this restaurant delivers a dining experience that is unparalleled.
To start, we were presented with a delicious snack of Croustade with Hafod cheddar, alliums, Japanese milkbread, and roasted garlic miso butter. The 10 courses that followed included a variety of dishes featuring fermented, cured fish, vegetables, and meats, all expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The standout dish for us was the Iberico pork, 'Imperial Kaigun Karē, which may have been the best pork dish we've ever tasted. Overall, dining at this restaurant is a fine dining experience in a unique setting. Even for those new to upscale dining, the 5-course menu is reasonably priced. While they are already listed in the Michelin Guide, we believe they are deserving of a Michelin star to add to their already impressive awards.
We received a lunchtime tasting menu as a gift from a family member and decided to book a table without knowing what to expect. From the beginning to the end, the taste and experience were truly exceptional and something everyone should try at least once. We also opted for drinks to complement each course, and the staff explained each plate and drink to enhance our experience. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and created a relaxing atmosphere. My husband, a dessert lover, declared that it was the best meal he had ever tasted. As for parking, there is nothing available directly at the restaurant, so we had to park on the backstreets of Shalesmoor. It's recommended to use public transportation as there is a tram stop conveniently located across the road.
This was THE best dining experience I’ve ever had! Before tonight the best meal I ever had was a Filet Mignon in 2010. Almost 14 years later it’s been knocked off the top spot by 3 of the dishes on the 8 course tasting menu. The atmosphere was amazing, the calm, quiet, and chilled vibe was on point. Being in the restaurant completely removed me from Sheffield. Didn’t feel like I was in Kansas anymore! The staff were so attentive but not close to annoying or intrusive. 100% coming for more. 10 course next time. So satisfying, so happy.
Went for a meal and stay midweek. Drinks, bar area and terrace is excellent with a good vibe. On the evening food was outstanding with a reasonably priced pairing selection.
