A nice place to eat. Does not offer the greatest experiences but no negative surprises either. A safe and well-developed concept. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: kr 600–700 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! I would highly recommend this restaurant:
Short version: Do not recommend it. Terrible experience. Long version: I can recommend the Sumo next door, or during the Christmas carnival the gløgg (mulled wine) and the k-hot dog stands. We had wonderful experiences there. We were going to celebrate an important day here, no worries, we had a magnificent time after we left... I made a reservation at 18:00 for 2, we arrived at 17:50, we were a little early, but we were escorted to our table quite soon. While we were seated, the waitress told us, that we have until 20:00 which was odd, I got no info prior to that about it, I have not seen it written down anywhere and I think this kind of info should be available before you make a reservation. But no worries, we usually do not sit around for 3 hours, unless the service is slow. And oh boy... We got seated at a table next to a door, which was opening to a street. Now in the summer, this would been a minor inconvenience, with the lot of movement next to us, the door opening all the time, but 1 day before December here the temp is somewhere between -10 and 5 Celsius in the evenings. So yeah it is cold. Every time when someone opens the door and decides to tell the tale of any books, films or anything else while the door is open, you are freezing, even if you have a sweater on, and I don 't think you should be eating in a restaurant in your winter coat, especially when if someone does not open the door for 5 min, you need to take down the coat again, to not sweat in a heated restaurant. For some reason, people were smoking next to the door, so every time someone opened it I was able to smoke as well, no matter if I wanted to or not. You could ask, Why did you not ask for a different table? . Well I wanted to, but that would require a waiter/waitress. Not sure when we were exactly seated, but it should be around 17:50 and 18:00. Apart from the seating and then much later a waiter and our waitress looked in our direction and then completely ignored us, we got 0 interaction and at 18:20 we put on our coats and left this establishment. Our waitress saw us leaving, and did not even ask. The bare minimum in EVERY restaurant is that you ask the guests if they want to drink something when you are giving out the menu, but if you forget it, or they don 't know, and you don 't have time to wait for 2 minutes until they figure out you come back in 5 minutes. BUT if you have the audacity to tell us we need to leave at 20:00 and leave the next person 's reservation on our table and not ask what food we would want to eat and what we would like to drink, that is beyond a joke. Your place is an insult to good restaurants, where it does not matter if the day is fast, they still treat you with dignity. If you make your food fresh, a basic main course can take like 15-30 min, some even longer. If we were to get our food at 18:30 with 90 min left for 3 courses, that is still cutting it quite close. We had no chance to get the main courses before 19:00, and I think it is reasonable if we do not want to chug down a main course and a dessert in less than an hour. Gave the ego a boost again for the first time in years. Never had such a tasteless entrecote before (costs about NOK 500). Spareribsa is perfectly fine, but is surpassed by just about everyone else I've tasted. The coleslaw tastes like boiled carrots and old socks. The margarita is more salty than drink, and the fruit is unripe, tasteless and hard. The only things that were good were the mocktails, fries (perfectly ok) and the pizza buffet. Paid NOK 1,300 for mediocre food that I could pass myself at home in my own kitchen, absolutely not worth it.
