This amazing place is only a block south of the plaza, yet it seems to be mostly undiscovered: It wasn't on TripAdvisor and it also isn't on Google Maps. We happened to arrive on the one day of Carnaval in Cholula, a Sunday. Streets around the plaza were blocked, so our taxi was diverted a block farther south to Avenida 3 Oriente. As we crawled near Avenida Miguel Aleman, I noticed this place on the north side of the street with a "mariscos" sign... I asked the driver to let us out.It was around 2 PM. The plaza was packed. But this place was empty! Once we saw the four buffet tables loaded with seafood and salads, we decided to stay. :) As we gorged ourselves, :) the place started to fill up. Maybe these people were having a late lunch? Most people were locals.Everything was delicious and plentiful. I ate plenty fresh salads without problems. After three plates, though, I couldn't eat any more. Too bad: I hadn't tried even half of the dishes.We came back mid-week to stoke up on food for climbing the (former) huge pyramid to the church. They had only menu service, and it was clear that we wouldn't get the choice, or the quantity, we got the past weekend. (The buffet cost around $180 MXD, and it was worth every centavo.)By the way, there's also an entrance from Avenida Miguel Aleman, not far north of Avenida 3 Oriente.

When we crawl near Avenida Miguel Aleman, I noticed this place on the north side of the road with a Mariscos sign... I asked the driver to let us out. It was at 2:00. The Plaza was full. But this place was empty! After seeing the four buffet tables loaded with seafood and salads, we decided to stay. When we pampered, the place started to fill. Maybe these people had a late lunch? Most people were locals. Everything was delicious and plentiful. I ate many fresh salads without problems. After three plates I couldn't eat anymore. Too bad: I didn't even try half the dishes. We came back in the middle of the week to steal food to climb the (formerly huge pyramid to the church. They only had menu service, and it was clear that we don't get the choice, or the amount, we have the past weekend. (The buffet costs about $180 MXD, and it was worth every Centavo. By the way, there is also an entrance of Avenida Miguel Aleman, not far north of Avenida 3 Oriente.
