On our final meal in St. Louis before heading home, we stumbled upon this hidden gem. I ordered the sampler platter, while my husband chose the smoked chicken wings with sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. The ribeye steak I ordered was dry, thin, and tough to cut. While the flavor was decent, it wasn't worth the $30 price tag. Despite the high recommendations I'd heard, I can't say I'd suggest it myself. I'm not angry, just let down. The restaurant is small and clean, with pleasant but random music playing. If they could improve the quality of their steaks to match the cost, it would be a much better experience. View all feedback.
Absolutely spectacular experience! Owner/staff were very welcoming, food was delicious and very reasonably priced, and the restaurant was very nice! If we didn't live 12+ hrs away we would be back on a weekly basis!
Nice and clean. Great, friendly service. Food was fabulous. Steaks did not disappoint this Nebraska girl! Sides were wonderful. Cornbread was delicious. Great whiskey selection! Thank you!
If you’re looking for good food, good drinks, and a very friendly atmosphere, Carnivores is the spot! I always get the steak and it is cooked to perfection every time. The staff is super friendly and even during their busy hours they still make time to come and check on you to see if everything is good. Definitely coming back here next time I’m TDY.
For the price it is NOT worth the trip. The server was unable to get our order right. Salads came to the table after the entrées. And then the food was lukewarm at best. I had the Bison and it was a poor cut, almost half of it was gristle.Don't bother with this place. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area.
We went to this restaurant today expecting really good things because of all the good ratings it had and it fell short. Right off the bat we came in sat down and we got our drinks and ordered our food. I tried to order the Wagyu burger and was told they didn’t have any Wagyu burgers and then I was told that the only thing that comes on the normal burgers is cheese and egg if you order it. Everything else is put on the side. I know it’s not a big deal to some people but if I’m paying almost $20 for a burger, I don’t want to have to do half the work to make it a burger. Then the food came out really fast, which was weird but we didn’t think too much of it. My food was good but my wife’s ranch dressing for her salad was disgusting making the salad dry without it and then her loaded potato was hard and the cheese was stuck to it indicating that it had probably not been made fresh. Overall, I think that this restaurant is trying to be a much nicer place than it is if they can’t accommodate the whole menu with their nicer things. Probably won’t go back.
