While their staff is very kind and the atmosphere is fun, their quality control is... read more I am a Rugby local that is a coffee connoisseur, and appreciates consistency. While their staff is very kind and the atmosphere is fun, their quality control is very bad. I can order my favorite drink, (a triple ristretto latte) at Starbucks or any local coffee shop outside of Rugby, including Dun Brothers in Devils lake and it tastes the same every time because they are trained on exactly how a latte is prepared. But unfortunately each time decide to try Solid Grounds coffee again, I am disappointed. Coffee is not something where you just try something different each time and hope it comes out right. Not to mention their prices are that of a top tier coffee shop. I wouldn’t mind paying $6.00 every so often if I’m getting consistency. I feel that there needs to be better training on how each specific drink is made, and the staffs priority should be to know how to make a drink consistent each time. Why should I have to lower my expectations for a local coffee shop, when I KNOW that I can get what I am expecting anywhere else?

We were traveling through Rugby on 02/25/23 on our way to Minot. We stopped at a gas station and asked where to get a good coffee. So we drove across town special to get a good cup of coffee from this place. Big mistake.I walked in and asked for a large black coffee. Back on the road I took a sip and it was absolutely awful coffee. It tasted like it had cherry in it. I threw the coffee out the window and put the cup in the garbage. I called the coffee shop and the girl said they had flavored coffee that she had given me.I’ve never ever had a coffee shop presume they could give a person flavored coffee without checking with them. I’d have opted for gas station coffee over what this place gave me. It was awful.

Has a gift shop with clothes and gifts to browse while you wait. I had the cold brew with foam which was very good. Has a drive up which is a plus on a chilly day. Also has a few seats and benches inside but no larger tables. Will be back!

It's a small coffee shop that shares its space with a beauty salon. The food was excellent, and there was a wide variety of coffee options. I thoroughly enjoyed mine!
