What Anonym dislikes about Rapala:
we had the local fish with a sweetheart. the fish was tasteless. we had to add olive oil, salt and pepper to make it edible. not even a small lemon was on the plate. View all feedback.
When I arrived at the restaurant, I was soaking wet because a rainstorm surprised me on m way back from Portofino to Rapallo. I wasn‘t sure if I should really go for dinner (although I had a reservation) because I was REALLY dripping, but the waiter was so nice and helpful and did everything he could to make me feel welcome and comfortable nevertheless. And he succeeded! I soon forgot about my wet clothes and had a lovely evening. The food was so delicious, I even broke my „only two courses“ rule and ordered a third one. I absolutely recommend the Tonno Tartufato it is so far the best dish I ever had in Italy! But the other two courses (Ravioli Boraggine e Gambas and the Creme Brulee) were also really good. Just drop by, have some tasty food, and say Hello for me to the lovely waiter!
We spent a very nice evening at Rapalà. Cosy atmosphere, very personal and friendly service, good selection on menu and very tasty food. Highly recommended!
We were visiting rapallo for two weeks and visited this restaurant three times the first time for lunch on our first day as it was the first restaurant we came across on our walk into rapallo. We had a nice salad but were served stale bread! Our subsequent visits were for dinner. As a non seafood eater (but I do like fish) I found the menu a little limited. So I settled for steak the first night which was very nice but had very few vegetables with it and sea bream the second time, which was served with a very scant salad. We sat outside and watched the sun go down which was lovely. We were served complimentary Prosecco which was slso lovely! The staff were friendly although there was no sense of ‘welcome back’ by our third visit. The throughput of people is evidently such that it is difficult for staff to recognise returning customers. In sum, a nice enough place with a lovely ambience if you sit outside. Food is average and not too expensive. Give it a try!
We chose to sit on the sunbeds, we assumed they cost was happy to pay, but there were no signs up to say how much no-one come over. We noticed everyone who had a bed received 'waiter ' service while we were completely ignored. So after a while I went to the bar area to order drinks. I don 't speak Italian but I do make an effort to greet/make pleasantries in Italian. But the man dismissed me, turned his back saying 'no english '. So after trying/failing to order what we wanted, I asked for sprite aqua (water) for ease. Again was told 'no english '?!?!? The service just got worse from there. Everytime we wanted to order a drink we were made to wait at the bar while they see everybody ahead of us, despite us being first in the queue. The staff were so rude we chose to have lunch elsewhere returned to the beds when we were ready. We were waiting ages just to pay was charged way over the odds for what we had in comparison to every where else in the area. It was meant to be a lovely day for me my mum to relax but it was so disappointing!!! Beautiful surrounds, but very rude staff non-existent service to 'foreigners '. Wasn 't made to feel welcome at all....do not recommend!
