My wife and I have ordered from Taking of Sun three times and have tried about 15 different rolls, along with the sea altar. While the sushi isn’t Michelin Star quality, it’s quite good for rural Virginia—actually, it’s impressive for Richmond too. I had some of the best sushi I've ever tasted! I highly recommend stopping by. It's a peaceful spot, and the lady who works there is very friendly.
This little restaurant may look sketchy based on location next to an auto shop but the food will not disappoint! I tried 4 sushi rolls and they were fantastic. You have the option for sushi, hibachi or American food like burgers or sandwiches. So there's something for everyone. And the atmosphere gives it a small town restaurant vibe. The owner was funny and on top of the service even while she was fielding orders over the phone and onsite. I will be returning again. You won't be disappointed.

The value for money is excellent, as their rolls tend to be quite large! My only criticism is that the construction of some rolls could be improved; the larger rolls often come out a bit loose and tend to fall apart, especially those with four ingredients.
UPDATE 06/02/18: I had another five-star experience at this wonderful little restaurant. The service was warm and welcoming, and the sushi was simply outstanding. One of these days, I’ll try something else on the menu, but that seems far off! However, I have to say that the fried pork chop and homemade mac and cheese are definitely worth checking out.
