The Philly cheesesteak sandwich at The Works is just average. There's nothing particularly special or disappointing about it. It's a bit bland in flavor.
Great Philly cheesesteak, can't complain- they focus on one thing, and boy do they do it well!
"The Philly cheesesteak at this restaurant is fantastic. They really excel at focusing on one thing and doing it perfectly."
I am originally from Philadelphia but moved to Frisco about 5 years ago. I have tried several Philly cheesesteaks from places like Pat's, Gino's, and Tony Luke's. I ordered the original cheesesteak with cheese whiz at this restaurant and unfortunately, it was the driest cheesesteak I have ever had. The meat seemed overcooked and there was only a small amount of cheese whiz on top. A traditional Philly cheesesteak is typically loaded with cheese whiz to keep the meat moist. As a Philly native, I recommend adding much more cheese whiz to your cheesesteaks in order to truly capture the essence of a Philly cheesesteak.
I 'm frustrated with Legacy Hall overall because it is all razzle dazzle but nothing delivers. In keeping with that, this place looked good but fell short. We ordered the original philly cheesestake and the Texas one. My husband said his had no flavor and he ate 1/3 and he was done. Mine was no better. The meat was spread over the bread to make it look full but you can really take most of the filling and shove it into 1/3 of the dry bread. There was hardly any onions. And the biggest sin of all? There was barely a strip of cheese whiz. The sandwich should have been oozing with it if you 're going to attach the name Philly to it. I paid $8.50 for the sandwich and could not make myself finish it. And I was really hungry. So charge me $10 and give me more of everything and fresh bread! Cheese whiz!
