Hammbone Willy’s delivers hearty, inventive burgers and generous sides in a spacious, casual setting. Highlights include a smoked brisket burger, colossal onion rings with creamy poblano sauce, and a fresh margarita chicken salad with pomegranate and jicama. Service blends counter ordering with table delivery and friendly staff who check in regularly. Portions offer good value despite slightly higher prices. Limited craft-beer choices and sparse veggie options are minor drawbacks, but it’s an easy go-to for satisfying, quick lunches.
I stopped by for lunch after hearing that Kenny Mills was the chef. We tried the Texas Dip, Lone Star Sliders, Hatch Green Chili Queso Chips, and a half order of Onion Rings. Being from New Mexico, we were eager to sample the green chili dishes, and there was plenty of food! Everything was delicious—our photos don’t do it justice. The place also has a small craft beer bar. It's a hybrid dining experience: you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table while checking in on you. Keep this in mind when tipping at the time of order (or make sure to have cash handy). The service was excellent, with really friendly staff. I would definitely bring my real estate clients here.
While I usually find meals a bit pricey, we ordered queso, onion rings, burgers, and drinks, which was quite a lot for two people. Our total came to $31, but honestly, we got a substantial amount of food for that price. I chose the Smoked Brisket Burger, which is piled high with brisket and bacon—absolutely amazing! My friend had the Brisket Sandwich, which was also incredible (he generously gave me half, and I took it home). The queso was decent, not outstanding, but the onion rings served with a creamy poblano sauce were out of this world! The sweet tea was great, and the fountain drinks were just okay—definitely stick with the tea! Since my first visit, I’ve returned four times in the last two weeks; be warned, this place could easily become your go-to burger spot! I’ve sampled a couple of other burgers and sandwiches, including the French Dip, which had green chiles added for a nice kick, and it was fantastic. I also tried the sweet potato fries for the first time, and they were excellent! Again, while it is a bit on the pricey side, the portions are generous, so I highly recommend splitting a meal. You’ll save some money while still enjoying plenty of food!
Pretty big menu. Fries and onion rings were delicious. Burger and bean burger could use more seasonings. Lots of topping options. Good service.
Absolutely delicious. Excellent quality. Husband and I shared the burger bowl with an extra patty, 1/2 onion rings, and 1/2 fried pickles we still had left overs. The price was very fair!
