Whether you are a fish and seafood lover (like me or you are looking for authentic Sicilian flavors, you must seat at one of the nicely appointed tables at Isgrò (I preferred the quieter indoor first floor and let Giuseppe (host and owner walk you through the wonders of the menu. Choosing was hard. We settled for crudo (amazing , polpette di sarde (delicious and baccalà agrodolce caponata (try it ! We shared Anemone and Gamberi spaghetti intrigued by the novelty and we loved it. Marcello (the Chef knows how to combine unique ingredients with the right spices, presenting a flavorful yet delicate dish. The fried triglie (red mullet and calamari were as tasty and fresh and cooked to perfection as expected. The homemade alloro liqueur (grazie zia was all I could have after such a meal, although I left the table satisfied but not at all heavy. The location in the traditional open air Capo market, the kindness and professionalism of the staff, the fact that fish comes straight from their own well known fish shop are some other reasons for liking this restaurant even more. We did a booking for a table inside in the upper floor days in advance and had it confirmed. Still, when coming there, we were told that there is no table free and we had to sit outside in a gangway. it was not all too bad, but not what we wanted. The food however was fine, from the antipasti to the main dishes. still we are not sure we would go there again.
This restaurant was recommended by friends and our expectations were not disappointed, indeed. kind welcome since I introduced myself to book. the restaurant has open tables and others inside, on the first floor of the building a few steps from nice doors, in the vivacity of the historical market of the head where the family that manages the restaurant has its fish stand, always very popular and you understand why. we ate inside, characteristic, and we liked the dishes decorated with colors and Sicilian subjects. we ordered a little of everything, according to the goits of each of us, and we chose a bottle of wine from the wine paper. we found ourselves very well: we were convinced the freshness of the raw material and the preparation of the dishes. honest price for 4 people, excellent value for money. we feel like recommending this restaurant.
This restaurant asked on entrance of main market , you can buy and choose your fish . All plates were very good and for reasonable price . Big quantities portions
Me and my fiancé had a blast. The food and wine were great. The staff was extremely helpful and recommended some of the meals. Prices are reasonable and the place itself is definitely worth going.
