Was Anonym at Ishina a mag?
\food is very good, not sure what to make of the "I'm indian and the food is not authentic" 1* reviews (competition.) Food is as good as most of the other Indian buffets in Ottawa. Price is excellent! I like the fact that they have a tasty soup to start with. Naan was a bit slow to come out, also a bit slow to fill up the trays of things like tandoori chicken. I will return with enthusiasm. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Ishina:
Not sure where this establishment got their tag line from(, Distinguished) certainly not the food. Average to low quality food in a take out type ambience. Overall the experience was average type food that did not measure up to the other Indian restaurants in the area. Not sure what their specialty was but even the naan bread seemed to be the packaged type. Not going back to this one. lots of other choices. View all feedback.
We decided to try this restaurant after partnering with the brewing company. We placed our order over the phone and everything was delivered as promised. The food arrived hot and tasty at our table next to the brewing company, and they even added it to our beer tab, making the experience hassle-free. The tandoori wings, flavorful samosas, and sweet chili glaze paired perfectly with our craft beer. The only thing left was a piece of naan that mysteriously ended up in my brother's pocket. We will definitely be ordering from here again.
We ordered food at this restaurant. Upon arrival, we had to wait several minutes to receive our food. We were even served a couple of gulab jamun while waiting. The roti was soggy and poorly wrapped, and the biryani was grey with uncooked rice and a bitter taste of Ajwain.
Every dish is inexpensive. The chicken biryani had minimal chicken. The dark raisins were cheaper compared to the golden ones. The low-quality basmati rice was disappointing. The service was lacking. Not recommended for anyone familiar with Indian cuisine.
The food was good, but not the finest Indian cuisine I've had. It felt a bit overpriced for the portion sizes, especially since we pre-ordered an hour and a half in advance and still had to wait an extra 30 minutes because they overlooked our order. The lamb and Chana Masala were flavorful, and the naan was light and fresh. However, the butter chicken was overly sweet and lacked sufficient meat, which was disappointing considering the price of at least $20 per plate.
The food is great. When I discovered this place a year ago, I thought it was great value however my latest visit was a shock when I discovered the portions have been reduced by half yet the price was the same so this is the same as doubling the price. One cannot blame the Covid situation for this massive increase in gouging.
