Red Dot Cafe - Osgoode
Red Dot Cafe
Description
Red Dot restaurant has had a tumultuous history of changing owners and decline in quality. With an overwhelming menu, dishes like seafood fettuccini have been hit-or-miss due to shortcuts and subpar ingredients. While some regulars appreciate the pub fare, others have found disappointment with burnt burgers and lackluster food quality. However, some praise the home-style cooking and excellent service, making it a go-to spot in Osgoode for many. Despite mixed reviews, the dedicated staff and cozy atmosphere have garnered both loyal patrons and frustrated diners.

The restaurant has a fantastic menu and is located in a nice spot. It's a bit hidden from the main road, so keep an eye out for Foodland as it's right next door. The service is wonderful, and a plus is the bar next door.
Oh my it's so hard to decide, especially when everything coming out of the kitchen looks delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. The desserts are all homemade!! Service is extraordinary--friendly, attentive and prompt.
Have been going to the Red Dot Cafe since they opened over 20 years ago but hadn't been in some time. Took the kids on Thursday night which is half price kids meal night. I ordered the roast beef dip and upgraded to sweet potato fries. The dipping sauce they serve with the sweet potatoes fries is so delicious. My son had the chicken tenders and fries off the main menu. My daughter ordered her usual penne pasta with Alfredo sauce off the kids menu which includes a drink and gummy worms for dessert. At the half price $4) this is a great deal as she had enough leftovers for dinner the next day. Everything was delicious and hot. Atmosphere is welcoming. Didn't have room for any of their awesome desserts this visit.
I went to this restaurant on Valentine's day. The service was below average, but it was understandable because it was a busy night. I ordered the Firehouse 92 burger, but it was severely overcooked and burnt. It was disappointing to see a sirloin burger served in such a poor quality. It felt more like a cremation for the cow rather than a meal, as I couldn't even eat half of it. If it had been better, I would have at least brought it home for my dog, but unfortunately I did not.
