I am more of a Thai and Vietnamese food type (Shout out to the Le family in Ha Long Bay), but the four other members of my family think this is the best Chinese takeout in the state. We just had everything in the menu. It's very good. If you have children... order the sweet and sour chicken. Trust me, everybody wants to eat something. And the dumplings are a ridiculously delicious appetizer. View all feedback.
What John Boomer dislikes about Moonstar:
Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by a young man who took the time to explain the menu to me, as it only listed dish names without much detail. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, which was absolutely fantastic! However, the Chicken with pea pods was a bit disappointing since it felt more like pea pods with chicken rather than a balanced dish. The Cashew chicken was rather bland, and the Sesame chicken, which was promised... View all feedback.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. My friends enjoyed the lunch buffet, while I opted for a vegetarian dish from the menu. There were plenty of dessert choices to satisfy any sweet tooth. The establishment was impressively clean, and I found the buffet pricing to be quite reasonable. Just a heads up, it's cash only, so be ready for that, or you can use the ATM on-site. Overall, I would rate the food 5 stars, the service 5 stars, and the atmosphere 5 stars.
The Cashew chicken was rather bland, and the Sesame chicken, which was promised to be either crispy or crunchy, unfortunately delivered on neither front. On the other hand, the General Tso's chicken was acceptable, especially since the person I was with isn't a fan of Chinese food. The sweet and sour soup, however, lacked flavor and excitement. I truly hope they can make some improvements to enhance their offerings and achieve success.
Now, let's discuss the food. The menu at Moonstar offered an impressive selection of dishes that showcased the rich diversity of Chinese cuisine. From spicy Szechuan options to delicate dim sum, each dish that was served to me resembled a work of art. The flavors were beautifully balanced, with every bite delivering a harmonious blend of spices and textures. It's clear that the chefs at Moonstar take great pride in their craft, as the presentation was simply stunning!
