My husband and I went to this restaurant today to try the fish plates. We ordered our food, and by the time we sat down, it was already being served. There was no way it was freshly cooked; everything was cold. The fries tasted like they had been sitting out for a long time and were also very cold. We have eaten Captain Ds for years. It has steadily gone down, and today was just gross. I ordered two 2 piece fish dinners to go. I checked them when he brought them out and they didn't look right. They were hard rectangles without any of the light crispy batter on the fish. I thought it might be chicken strips. The young emoloyee looked and said, no that's fish. I said well something is wrong with it. He asked what. I don't know. It doesn't look right. To that he ignored me and went to the counter to help someone else.I got it home and decided to try it. GROSS! I took about three bites and couldn't eat anymore. I don't know if the fish is old or maybe thawed and re-frozen or maybe under a heat lamp too long. It is dark brown and tastes horrible.
A young man named Ian waited on us. He was very friendly and stayed busy cleaning when there were no customers at the counter. He checked on the dine in guest to make sure they didn't need anything. Awesome employee
I had the worst experience at this restaurant. None of the food I ordered was fresh; I wouldn't even feed it to a stray dog. Please steer clear of this place. Even the honey mustard tasted off. My wife ordered regular battered fish but got the spicy version instead. The loaded baked potato looked and felt like it was days old. The stuffed crab was subpar and definitely not fresh. They also failed to replace the hush puppies with the breadsticks we requested. I strongly advise avoiding this location!
