We have had issues on each of our visits recently, mainly being that the dishes we have ordered haven't had everything it says it should. After it happening twice we asked before paying will the dish have everything it should and was assured it will....However this wasn't the case when it was served, we raised the issue but nothing was done. My family and I visited the restaurant yesterday and had the Sunday roast. It was one of the best I've had in a long time and the price was great. We were served by a lovely young lady named Georgia who was very professional and worked hard to ensure our table was clean and clear throughout our visit. When we decided to order dessert, we noticed there was a long wait. Georgia went out of her way to save us from queuing, making our visit even more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning soon.
The pub is nice and the food is excellent. Our waitress Megan was very accommodating. Originally, our table was a few steps up, which was difficult for my partner who has mobility issues. Megan immediately changed our table so we could keep an eye on our dogs. She even checked a dog-friendly area to see if it was available. Although she didn't apologize for the inconvenience, she was very helpful. While we were ordering our food, Megan informed us that a table would be free soon and she would let us know when it was ready. She even offered to meet us at another entrance to show us where to go. This small gesture was greatly appreciated, especially considering our time constraints due to a medical issue. Thank you Megan and all the staff for the excellent service.
Went for my mums birthday and she was very impressed and so was all the table we all said we would go again even the children liked the food and my Nan who hardly eats anything ate the whole meal 10/10 The bar staff where very nice and help out loads
My girlfriend and i absolutely love this pub and are regulars there. It is currently undergoing quite a bit of a makeover and will be even better. The fact it is so big makes it so special. It can be busy but there is plenty of space for a quiet meal without being interrupted by kids or football fans or whatever. On the other hand when the football is on they have a screen for wherever you are sat and i like nothing more than meeting friends and enjoying the atmosphere in there. We often dine in there and the food is best described as good wholesome pub food. We have never had a bad meal there and the service is excellent. I recommend the combo platter for 2 which costs a miserly £7 and it fills you up so much that you don't need mains or dessert. The one gripe i have over the food is they use frozen chips, but i always have a jacket anyway so no problem. This is a great family pub that offers a wide variety of beer and is rightly very popular with people from Shaw, Royton and Rochdale due to being on the Royton/Rochdale border. They have a popular quiz night and various special offers on selected drinks throughout the week. There is always something going on, be it for St Pat's day or Australia Day, Halloween or whatever. This is just a great pub for a Sunday afternoon or weekday evening.
