Was Ella Birt at Secrets By The Sea a mag?
For our appetizer, I ordered the **** Mary oyster shots, while my husband opted for the King Prawn Cocktails (if that's what they were called). For our main courses, I had the Moreton Bay Bug, which was absolutely fantastic, and we also enjoyed the Salt and Pepper Squid. We shared an Ice Cream Sundae for dessert. I went out for a quiet birthday dinner on a Sunday evening with my wife and son, focusing on local and seafood dishes. The online reservation process was straightforward, and I received prompt confirmation. Even though it was a chilly evening, the heating was perfectly adjusted, creating a comfortable atmosphere. There were only about five or six tables occupied, which meant that the service was attentive. The menu was well-crafted, mainly highlighting seafood, and I believe it would appeal to a wide variety of diners. For starters, we opted for the Oysters Kilpatrick and shared a dozen between the two of us. For our main course, we had King George Whiting and Blue Swimmer Crab Linguine. Our son, who is 11, chose a smaller portion of the Salt and Pepper Calamari instead of the kids' Fish and Chips on the menu. The oysters were from Coffin Bay and were served with blue rock salt instead of the usual white, along with some salad on top. While they were delicious, I found a few of them to be quite small. Given the price of $35 for a dozen, I expected a more generous serving. The whiting was excellent, coated in a delightful batter, served with chips and a generous portion of salad. They did forget the sauce initially, but it was provided upon request. The Blue Swimmer Linguine was well-cooked, and while there was a decent amount of seafood, it could have been enhanced with some cracked pepper and a sprinkle of parmesan. My only complaint was regarding the 'scaled-down version' of the Salt and Pepper Calamari for my son. Although the pieces were larger than average, there were only three, and most of the bowl was filled with salad and chips. Had we known, my son would have happily eaten more. When we asked, we were told that the main portion was larger than what a typical child would eat. We didn’t order dessert, but the menu offered a reasonable selection. Overall, I found the evening enjoyable. The wine was reasonably priced, the food was good, and the service from the staff was excellent. The thoughtful birthday gesture at the end of the night was a lovely touch. Thank you!

Overall, the food was tasty, the service was commendable, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made us quite happy. The only downside was that I couldn't really taste any alcohol in the **** Mary Shots; a little more alcohol would elevate them to perfection! My husband’s Pina Colada also seemed a bit lacking in alcohol. But other than that, we were very pleased with our experience.

I dined here with my partner the other night, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The service was excellent, and they offered an impressive selection of wines and drinks. Our meal was exquisite, featuring incredibly fresh and delicious seafood—it's hard to find anything better in South Australia! To top it all off, we enjoyed a divine espresso and a stunning white chocolate panna cotta for dessert. Everything looked amazing. We will definitely return. Five stars!
