Nestled along the A275, this charming pub offers a delightful Caribbean twist on traditional Sunday lunch that has quickly made it a beloved local gem. Diners rave about the exceptional Jamaican cuisine, particularly the goat curry and reggae roast chicken, complemented by attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. Reservations are highly recommended as it tends to fill up, especially on weekends. With reasonable prices and a cozy ambiance featuring stunning countryside views, patrons can enjoy perfectly crafted dishes alongside local ales. From the warm greeting for muddy hikers to delicious desserts, this pub promises a memorable dining experience for all.
I recently stayed at this restaurant for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. I tried the pork curry on the first night and the Sunday roast with lamb on another night, both of which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend staying here or stopping by for the amazing food. Thank you to Jazz for the wonderful service! The price per person ranges from £20-30 and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5. I especially recommend trying the Jamaican Style Spicy Chicken Wings.
We stayed here in September for a wedding in the area and booked last minute. What a gem of a find! The rooms were lovely, comfortable, and cozy, and the food at the pub was absolutely incredible. The pub is run by a delightful family. Thank you so much for our stay. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have been passing by this restaurant for years without stopping, but finally made time to visit today for my birthday meal. The curry goat was absolutely amazing, my wife's pork chop was huge, tender, and perfectly cooked. My son's steak was delicious and my daughter claimed the cheeseburger was the best she's ever had. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and willing to answer any questions. They also had a great selection of local beers. It was great to see a small local restaurant bustling with customers.
My friends and I decided to stop at this pub while taking a walk from Lewes and back, and we were delighted with the delicious Jamaican food. The squash and mushroom creole was excellent, and the chicken and spinach curry had just the right amount of spice. The service was outstanding. We will definitely be coming back.
